You can easily convert this cleaner for wood floor use by quickly turning off the rotating brush with a convenient switch. You can also easily adjust the height with a manual height adjust. The ability to provide less automation with the height variation and control function was better. So if you have high pile carpet or the much lower Berber, you will be assured that your carpet will be as clean as it can be.
The Kirby Generation 3 is known for having an impressively wide carpet cleaning path. Naturally this does not impact the power relative to suction in any manner.
You will still enjoy the nearly legendary carpet raising power of the Kirby vacuum. You will not see the suction tubes, but they were made larger to accommodate the wide path. The simple reason for that is it prevents the tubes from clogging. As with other models, you can very quickly convert this upright into a canister for hard floor cleaning with the appropriate cleaning attachment.
