Hack Slash
Knights contract- Witches and the knights
It was probably the last generation of consoles, with more introduced in 3D gaming platform, which began to emerge definitely hack and slash genre. With Devil May Cry as a great first reference, Ninja Gaiden Black-and-absolute king of the genre and then further iterations with as much or more prestige as God of War-touch more action-adventure was confirmed as a type of successful game. This generation has followed in the wake of the big three above, with news and lots through "inspiration" of those mechanics. Knight Contract (Playstation 3 and Xbox 360) is part of the gaming industry.
This is a proposal developed by Namco Bandai Game Republic. If we in history, we face to a more than noticeable in handheld games, where they have done work as both Dragon Ball Origins Nintendo DS or the recent Dragon Ball: Ultimate Butoden, also DS. Can not say the same thing as desktop products are concerned, at least if we look at action games. His latest project, Clash of the Titans, went unnoticed. But being parents of Folklore (2007 - Playstation 3) and Majin and the forsaken Kingdom (2010 - Playstation 3, Xbox 360), it is clear that they have a special hand may come to light at any time.

Contract Knight's plot puts you in the shoes of a gentleman named Heinrich ex-executioner. The particularities of the two main characters from that time are interesting: he can not die, cursed by a spell, she, however, is a witch of great magical powers. Without really knowing why, we are fighting a witch to finally defeat.
Only then will we understand the crux of the matter. Gretchen Heinrich killed doing their job at the behest of the governor Verdugo Faust. She cursed him and now he can remove the spell if it helps in their particular epic: to fight against all witches and enemies who have sown the black plague on the planet as revenge against mankind. That one from ignorance burned alive by bringing the pests as their rulers. All lies, but as the people believed his boss, the people must die. What appears to be a requirement of the script is also a playable added that we should take into account at all times. We are immortal, and hit us hard but we will not fall ever. Everything else is very well known in a product of its kind. The simplicity of the controls came, unfortunately, to the simplicity of our actions. The combos are pretty basic, and although it is true that we can string a series of shots more interesting, the game does not reward that. The benefits we get by crushing the action buttons and doing some magic concrete are greater than if we try to fight the system that we are given, showing that the calibration in the sense of the challenge is quite questionable. Something that can eventually make Contract Knight doing repetitive runs during the development phase.
As usual in this type of game, the Quick Time Events are also present to destroy our enemies. Pressing the button will do just as he is dying a finisher rather than striking visually. The climax comes with the bosses. They are the most interesting enemies and struggles to beat more complicated, as they are varied and need to find their weak points. Unfortunately, the final touch in the final QTE can lead us down the road of bitterness. Often the sequence is not clear that asks us, failing and having to once again lead the enemy for a while and start the same sequence until it is successful.
However, the game is intense, constant enemies, in their development. Path full of enemies, some surprise, the witch or monster and jump phase shift. There are few items to collect, notes and other extra content, so level is not too encouraging replay it offers, many of the objects have no loss-Knight Contract in this regard. Technical section
Contract Knight is a game that works well in motion, thanks to the amount of blood, dismemberment and the fluidity of the action you see on screen. But it weighs too much, a graphic section are clearly outdated. While Heinrich has enough detail, the Witch somewhat less but the truth is that the overall level of the enemies is quite debatable. Generic designs, weak polygonal and a flat and low-resolution textures reminiscent of past generations. In this sense only save the boss by design, since most will finish-texture-very little to tarnish worked mainly in the foreground.
Recreated the fantasy world offers a variety of locations, although none of them surprise artistic level, and not out of tune if not for the finish in general and the limitations already mentioned. The lighting effects and impacts, as well as cut scenes and actions QTE, if they show some frames and satisfying moments, though few and are limited by the graphics engine, which at least shows strong despite the size of some leaders and more than once there are several enemies on screen.
Surely the highlight here is the soundtrack. Contract Knight takes a lot of elements of the hack and slash, the recreational and repeats, and is presented as a soulless product generic in many ways and with little stress on competition. It has a simple and intuitive combat, supported by the fact that our life depends on another character, we are immortal, but ends up being more of the same by little we go on the adventure of Heinrich and Gretchen. With an insufficient technical section for current times and the platforms coming out, the occasional AI problem (is about to die and no exception as it should) and especially the feeling of 'more of the same' something compounded by the fact that is not running a particularly outstanding (you can repeat a formula that works, but doing it with a sublime level, which is not the case.) All this makes the work of Game Republic does not reach higher levels. Entertaining without further if you're very fond of the genre, but without any challenge or difficulty or depth of engagement.
