From Heroes to Zeroes: Creator Tim Kring Apologizes for Season 2
Yes, Heroes indeed grabbed the spotlight earlier this year when they first aired its sophomore season. It was so brilliant that it earned more than just viewer uproar, but also an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series. In fact, NBC was sharing in the limelight, until Heroes entered its second season, which never lived up to what the show was really all about.
Entertainment Weekly recently talked to Tim Kring about his show gone awry, and he admits that his creative team had "made a mistake." Thank God!
So let's outline this for those who don't know. Mistake number one was that the show just literally dropped whatever happened in season one and started over like the previous season never happened. Why? Because there were way too many new, boring characters that seemed to be going nowhere. Mistake number two was that they did not even prolong or continue the small reunion the heroes had back in the finale of season one. It's like suddenly, the Sylar encounter and Peter explosion never happened. Mistake number three (it just keeps on going) was that they insufficiently resolved things way too late into the season. Five lame episodes are more than enough for even a fan to switch channels. Mistake number four, which kind of relates to the previous one is that they never seemed to answer why it took too long for Peter to return home, and why Hiro was even stuck in the past. What was holding him back?
Tim Kring admitted that they "didn't put much thought into it" which translates to we just don't care. That kinda hurts in a way that the fans expected much, and they just did not care enough to return the favor for all the support the fans have given the show in its freshman installment.
It's unjust and disappointing, but at the very least, Tim Kring acknowledges his and the team's mistakes. This serves as a little reassurance for us fans to think that there will be a new beginning for Heroes, and they will soon be redeeming themselves when they return.

The first hour is going to be about summing up the first and second season for those new comers to the show. the next two hours are for the first and second episode of season 3 or volume 3 Villans.
