To move left, press the Left button. To move right, press the Right button. To jump, press the A button. To pause the game, press the Start button. To make Sonic perform Spin Attack, press the A button twice. To make Sonic roll into the enemy, press the B button. To make Tails and Knuckles glide, press the A button twice. To make Tails perform a Tail Spin, press the B button. To make Knuckles punch, press the B button. To make Amy perform the Love Hammer, press the B button.
The storyline of the game begins with Dr. Eggman who wants to have the seven Chaos Emeralds so he can dominate the whole world. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy have a mission to stop Dr. Eggman from his evil plan.
Sonic Advance has 6 zones. The Neo Green Hill zone has a lot of similarity with the Green Hill Zone of Sonic 1 except that the beach has additional items at the start of Act 1. The boss in the first zone is the most easiest to defeat. Eggman will appear at the bridge in the end of the second Act. This is the place where the Hammertank will appear. The Hammertank will move from one side of the screen to the other. You should jump up and hit the tank to avoid being hit by the tank. If you are playing as Sonic, you should use Double Spin Attack. If it is Tails, use the Spin Attack. If it is Knuckles, glide into the tank and hit it. If you are Amy, perform a Love Hammer in the mid air.
You must collect the 7 Special Springs to gain entrance into the special stage to obtain the Chaos Emeralds and unlock the Extra Zone. The Special Spring resembles a large blue spring. There are several rings in the special stage. If you hit the obstacle in the special stage, you will lose ten rings. If you hit a bumper, you will dash forward. The bumper resembles a small red ring. If you run into a Chao, you will be rewarded with a Continue. The orange circle will reward you with 5 points if you press the B button while going through it after hearing the message 'Failure!'. There are two ways to earn Rings which are, through the game or earning them through the two mini games at the Tiny Chao Garden.

i am wanting these game bad but i've heard they are notorious for terrible controlls, and glitchy gameplay
would these games taint my colection?
I don't know about Knuckles chaotic but I know that the newer sonic games have been doing not so well lately.
