Latest Trends in Infrared Imaging Technology
Thermal cameras are tools that generate images through heat instead of light. They use infrared imaging technology, which measures the infrared energy radiated from an object and converts that information into images.
Newer thermal cameras such as the TI 30 use infrared imaging technology to offer information on temperatures at each image pixel, which can be acquired by simply positioning your cursor on any point of the digital image. Cameras like the TI 30 are getting a lot smarter and guiding users to precise locations to take images and thus ensuring accuracy. Such features are extremely beneficial for predictive maintenance and HVAC systems.
Standing out among the progress that thermal cameras and infrared imaging has made in the recent past, the latest and most useful trend is the amalgamation of thermal cameras with personal computers. The camera, much like a simple digital camera, can now be easily plugged into a computer port, making it simple to process, view and store high-resolution infrared images. This also negates overhead costs associated with separate display and memory setups.
Thermal cameras are also expected to produce higher resolution images because of new focal plane arrays, based on thermal effects. Does it make a lot different between the camera with and w/o image stabilizer?
I have a canon SD600 powershot without imgae stabilizer. I am thinking to switch to other camera with imgae stabilizer, is it necessary for me to do that?
Image stabilization isn't magic... it can help a little, but it isn't the cure to shaky hands. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
