what was the deal with Memin Pinguin?
Just a tidbit: About a year ago, in commemoration of the famous chracter and its creator, the mexican government issued intl stamps with his picture on it. Upon arriving into the United States, the African American community was in an uproar claiming that the character was demeaning, The exagerration of the size of his lips and nose was "clearly" a means to "poke fun" at black people.
The blacks insisted that The Mxcn govnt retire the stamps and apologize. Not only did they refuse to retire the stamps and apologize, but Mexico basically told the AAs to FCUK off and that they were ignorant bastards for not being able to recognize such a popular figure in mexican pop culture
